Misty grew up in a Navy household and moved a lot as a result of military life. Life in a military family took her from Georgia, Texas, South Carolina, Florida, Washington, California, Connecticut, Kentucky, Indiana, and eventually back to Georgia.
In 2005, Misty served as a missionary with the North American Mission Board (NAMB) and was assigned to Glynn County, GA in a ministry that focused on beach resort and inner-city missions work. The service experience with NAMB fostered a strong sense of mission work in the local community and she has since focused her ministry efforts in the area where she lives. From 2007 to 2010, Misty volunteered weekly at the Baptist Ministry Center in Brunswick, GA serving the impoverished inner-city community by offering discipleship and biblical counseling.
Misty has an A.S in Criminal Justice from the College of Coastal Georgia, a B.S. in Psychology, and an M.A. in Counseling and Leadership from Liberty University. Misty is currently undergoing certification through the Association of Certified Biblical Counselors (ACBC). As an integral part of biblical counseling and discipleship development, Misty is a student of God’s word and is engaged in regular Bible study on her own and with Camden Crossroads Community Church.
Outside of church, Misty serves as an investigator with the St. Marys Police Department. Misty has investigated numerous serious crimes ranging from homicide, arson, sexual assaults, kidnappings, and other crimes against persons and property. Misty has a specialization working with abused children and those affected by crimes against persons.
