Pray For Our Pastor

Prayer is the most important method for you to support our pastor. Your prayers help to strengthen and protect our pastor. The following are scripture-based prayers you can pray for your pastor. They are designed for you to use each day of the week. You can use the prayer exactly as given or base your prayers on the Scriptures listed.

I. Lord, let Pastor Ian have a discerning mind to prioritize the hours and minutes of his day. Let Pastor Ian discern what is most important and be protected from the tyranny of the urgent. (II Corinthians 11:14, I John 4:1)

II. Jesus, keep Pastor Ian holy in every way (I Peter 1:16). Protect him from seducing spirits, especially when he is tired and hard-pressed. Provide comrades to help protect him and to share with in personal holiness (James 4:7). As Pastor Ian draws near to You, draw near to him (James 4:8). Cancel the power of sin so it will have no effect (Ephesians 1:22)

III. Lord, as Pastor Ian spends quiet time with you, shed your love abroad in his heart. Let Pastor Ian know how much he is loved (Romans 5:5). In Jesus’ name, let the love of God be Pastor Ian’s mainstay in ministry. So be it!

IV. In Jesus’ name, I command church hurts, and ungrateful forces to move. I command mountains of criticism and inordinate expectations to be cast into the sea. I command stress, excessive phone counseling, and fatigue to be cast into the sea. I believe every need, vision, and dream of Pastor Ian’s that comes from You will be completed (Mark 11:22:24; Philippians 4:19).

V. Lord, I stand against the enemies of Pastor Ian’s prayer life: busyness (Acts 6:2-4), compulsions, compromise (Acts 5), unnecessary phone calls, chronic counselees, fatigue, sleepiness (Mt. 26:41), appetites, television, late meetings, over-commitment, and doubt. Let nothing hinder Pastor Ian’s time with You. Let him rise up to seek You (MK. 1:35) , pray with other pastors (Acts 1:14), and pray without ceasing (I Thess. 5:17). Give Pastor Ian the time, the desire, and the place to pray (Acts 16:16). I rebuke, in the name of Jesus, any distractions from his devotional life (Mk. 5:36).

VI. Lord, by Your Holy Spirit, anoint Pastor Ian to preach, and bring apostolic results (Acts 2:37) . Let people be cut to the heart and accept Jesus Christ. Amen.
